Weekly Update 3rd August 2014

Wauchope Men’s Veteran Golfers

Next Tuesday 5^th August the competition is a Single Stableford at Kempsey Golf Club, there are 56 starters and the sheet is full. I will include the sheet with the starting times later in the email.

The computer will open on Tuesday morning at 6:00am for bookings on Tuesday 19^th August. Not the usual 7:00am, because the members travelling to Kempsey.

A good contingent of players travelled down to Tuncurry on Monday  28^th July, an enjoyable day was had by all. 18 players travelled in the bus, the others by private transport. There were no Wauchope players in the major prize winners, Rod Millican and Peter Abell picked up balls in the rundown. We were a bit luckier in the raffle. Tuncurry greeted us with scones and tea or coffee, the course in good condition and a Tuncurry Burger for lunch. We experienced the Score card scanner, when scoring on the card you put a mark through the number strokes you had, when you come in the card is scanned and that takes about 10 seconds for the full card entry.

Very close now is the Bill Medley Shield at Port Macquarie Golf Club on Monday 11^th August, we have about 31 players nominated, that will give Dennis Hughes a lot of headaches selecting the Team to represent us. Best of luck Dennis!  Don’t forget it is a 9:00am Shotgun start, 8:30am check in the fee is $20

On the Noticeboard at Wauchope is Nomination Sheet for positions in Wauchope Vets Committee. The Nomination sheet is open until 3:00pm 2^nd September 2014, plenty of time  for members to think “what can I contribute”. Please consider being nominated for the position which most suits you.

Tuncurry have an Open Day on 25^th August the  notice will be on the board if you are interested.

VETERAN GOLFERS’ TOURNAMENT

Thursday and Friday 4th and 5th September 2014

To all Lady and Gentleman Veteran golfers ... From Uncle John
Entries are now open for local golfers for this NSW VGA Tournament sponsored mainly by our own Fatman, Clark Joyce.
Prizes total over $3000 and already we have over 130 visiting golfers entered.
Please note that you MUST be a Vets member to enter!
As I have most of your details, you need not complete the entry form. However, you may do that if you wish.
The Brochure AND Entry Form are available from NSW VGA website and might be attached to this blog!
Alternately, and an easier way, is to give me your $$ and tell me you wish to play.
I will have a proforma available following each Tuesday’s play up to the week before the event. Just come visit, pay up and confirm the details I write in.
You will need to tell me the following:
Which day OR days you wish to play at $25 per day;
How many at Presentation Dinner on Friday @ $25 (partners welcome);
Morning (7:15) or Afternoon (Noon) Shotgun start time;
Is there someone or a group that you wish to play with;
Own Cart, Booking a cart or Walking ... (Need to arrange cart booking with Proshop); and

IF CARTING ... if sharing with another local OR a visitor.
