Sunday update 1st June 14

Wauchope Mens Veteran Golfers

 

Just a quick update.

 

The visit to Taree last Friday 30/5 was a success. It is a very interesting course and the scores indicated that. 25 players made the trip, 20 by bus and 5 by car. And it didn’t rain.

 The  winner, with 37 points was Barry Watson, followed by Glenn Regan with 34 points and Ross Bird with 32 points was 3^rd. Barry received a voucher for the win, 4 balls for 2^nd place and 2 balls for 3^rd place, and the ball rundown went to 25^th place. We are invited to visit Club Taree as a Group or individually. The group agreed it would be good to return next year, play as we did, our own competition,  or play with Taree Vets. The committee will discuss the options. Thank you to Alan Brooke for organising and driving the bus, we really appreciate it. (Photos on blogsite)

 

Our next trip away is to Wingham on Wednesday 11^th June, at this stage we still only have 15 players, if that number stays there would need to be a decision on taking the bus or postponing the visit. All the info is on last weeks email. We have until Tuesday to bolster the numbers.

Tuesday is 8:00am Shotgun Start, with free BBQ after. The BBQ is in lieu of the Mid Year Dinner, this way more members benefit. The competition is Single Stableford. There are two vacancies at this time so if you haven’t booked,  get in now. If you are thinking about cancelling, please do as early as possible, to allow another member to take your place.

On Tuesday morning 3/6 the computer is set to open at 6:00am for bookings for 17/06, this will allow those players plenty of time to get to the course for the 8:00am  start. Please be early to book in, to avoid the last minute rush.

Tuesday 5^th August, we are taking our competition to Kempsey Golf Club. Wauchope course is not available to us on that day because of the Ladies WGCNG Annual Tournament  over 3 days. We will be putting a Timesheet out as it gets closer.

Hello Veteran Golfers

 

Just a quick note to keep you informed.

 

Firstly, there is a vacant seat in a cart, for Taree on Friday 30^th May, I invite either a person who is already going or an extra participant to take up that seat. The situation is, there are 30 players going down to Taree, the green fee cost is $15 the cost of the cart seat is $17.50, if I cannot get a person to take that seat I will only have 29 players. Also there is a vacancy on the bus. Email me if you are interested or phone me.

There is also a bus trip to Wingham on Wednesday 11^th June, Wingham always welcome us, to their friendly environment. At present there are only  11 players booked to go,  the maximum number is 22. Travel by bus or by your own transport. Wingham Vets will organise seats for those people who require carts. See us on Tuesday, or the notice is on the Vets Board or again email or phone me.

 

Tuesday’s event is a Single Stableford, there are still vacancies on the starters sheet, if you haven’t nominated put your name on the electronic time sheets or contact the club. At the present moment there are 10 vacancies, the weather seems as though it will be good, the event is sponsored by Wauchope RSL Club.
