Wauchope Men's Vets weekly update 12.07

Wauchope Men’s Veteran Golfers

Next Tuesday 14th July is Single Stroke Bi-Monthly Medal, inconjunction with this event is the Putting Competition sponsored by Al Muller and Bill Wagner, thank you, Al and Bill. It is the 6th Round of the Eclectic which is sponsored by Dennis Hughes and John Uncle, thank you Dennis and John. The field has  6  vacancies at present, so if you want a game get in early.

Tuesday 21st July is the 8:30am Shotgun Start for the Wingham Visit. This is the 2nd leg of the Neil Grant Memorial Shield, Wingham are leading us at the moment, but we hope we are able to catch them on  the 21st and win the inaugural Shield. The scoring is based on the top 10 scores from each Club, at present the scores are Wingham 374  points, Wauchope 319  points. Wingham have 23 players coming up at this stage.

The following Tuesday 28th July will be another 8:30am Shotgun Start, when Harrington Vets visit us to contest the 1st leg of the Harri-Hope Shield. You will see about 25 spots blocked off the timesheet when booking ahead on Tuesday, they are for Harrington players.

Also on the horizon is Wauchope Trips away, firstly the Bill Medley Shield at Kempsey on Friday 24th July, I have submitted 21 players for that event. It is a 9:00am shotgun Start. The Bill Medley Results stand at Frederickton lead with 693 points, Wauchope, with 688 points, tie with Port Macquarie with 688 points, Kew with 676 points, South West Rocks with 656 points, Kempsey with 609 points, Crescent Head with 553 points. You can see by those scores it is important we field a strong team, I will leave the selection to Dennis Hughes. (Best of luck Dennis!!)

The other away trip is to Tuncurry Golf Club on Monday 3rd August this is a 9:00am Shotgun Start, we are taking a 22 seater bus down, there are 25 names on the sheet, some are travelling by car, I need to clarify a few peoples travel mode. This is always a good day, bring your straight game with you, although I believe they have cleaned some of the scrub out.

Ron Dixon is still at it, he was Runner-up in the C Grade Monthly Medal on Saturday 4th July, also Runner-up on Tuesday 3 Clubs + putter Competition with 38 points and he also turned 94 on Thursday, Happy 94th Birthday, Ron, we wish you all the best. He also had a photo in the Port News on Friday.

I still have a number of 2015-2016 Memberships cards to give to Financial Members, and to Unfinancial members after they part with $5.
