Wauchope Men’s Veteran Golfers
Another busy week has passed us. Thank you to all our
members for the participation last Tuesday when we had a field of 148 players.
It was a bit slow but when the course is full from the moment the go button is
pressed, I don’t think we can expect much more. Future visits to and from
Wingham we will be playing for the Neil Grant Memorial Shield which will be
decided by the top ten scores from each club at each venue totalled to
determine the winner. The Shield has been purchased is ready for next year.
Tuesday 29th July is President’s Day, a Single
Stableford. Looking at the computer sheet this afternoon, shows there are only
2 spots vacant, if you are looking for a hit on Tuesday you should get quick.
I asked my Roving Reporter Mr Dennis Hughes to report on
Friday’s Bill Medley Shield at Kempsey, (if you detect a little bias, its ok,
as Dennis is the Bill Medley Shield Selector). Here is Dennis’s Report.
“Great day at Kempsey with the greens 250% better than last
year. Full coverage of grass and holding.

Thank you Dennis a great result only 16 points behind Port
Macquarie, which means it is very important for us to field a really good team for Port Macquarie Bill
Medley on Monday 11th August, also thank you for the report.
Kempsey has asked us to collect the Green Fees for Tuesday 5th
August in advance of our visit. We will attempt to collect as many as possible
on Tuesday, the cost is $16. This will help the Pro shop on the day and they
will print our cards and finalise the
competition.
There are about 23 players travelling to Tuncurry tomorrow 28.07, I feel everybody has been notified of Bus times and Hit off times, the cost is $25 for Golf, Tuncurry Burger lunch, scones and morning tea on arrival, bus is $5. Have a good day!!!
