Wauchope  Men’s Veterans Golf Club conducted  a Single Stableford event on Tuesday  27^th January  2015. There were 19 players, which was a disappointing number, given it didn’t rain and was quite cool. The course was Tee up through the green and bunkers GUR, carts were not allowed on the course.

With only 19 players it was a Ball Comp only, the winner receiving 3 balls, runner-up receiving 2 balls

Next Tuesday 27.01 is a Single Stableford sponsored by Fredo’s Meats. Fredo’s have been great sponsors of the Wauchope Vets over the years, please pop in and tell them you are from the Wauchope Vets when purchasing your Eye Fillet Steak and Beef Sausages. Looking at the timesheet for Tuesday, there are 2 vacancies, get in and grab them if you are looking for a game.

Crescent Head Bill Medley Shield is on, but I still have no official notification. I will prepare a sheet for Tuesday and start taking names. It is on Tuesday 17^th February, being a Six Hole course, they have some latish hit off times, but you will always be refreshed by the “Nor, Easta” if it is blowing. Unfortunately  this event clashes with our own Tuesday event. The only thing I can say, it is a 4BBB at Wauchope or a Single Stableford at Crescent Head.

I had my little rant on Wednesday and we will leave there.

The Membership card distribution went well last Tuesday, if you have not received yours, I will try and be out there before 1^st Hit off on Tuesday, and those people who hit off after me, would you come into the Club and get your card.

If you would like a Fixture Book, they will be available from early March, they are $2 each, please order through me if you would like one. Thank you to those people who have emailed me with their order.

Next Tuesday 20th January it is Bi Monthly Medal Day which also means there is a Putting Competition sponsored by Al Muller and Bill Sharp also a round of the eclectic which is sponsored by Dennis Hughes and John Uncle. Looking at the booking sheet there are 4 spots available, jump in if you are looking for a game. Oh, I almost forgot it is a Single Stroke.

 

At the committee meeting on Tuesday it was decided to implement a Travel Incentive Plan, the goal is to encourage as many players as possible to play the away games and extra games which are played at Wauchope, there are 13 games (counting Crescent Head). The committee decided to reward the  two players who has the best average of their 9 best scores playing in the games below. Rewards are $60 voucher for the best average score and $40 voucher the runner-up (based on countback method)

I send the emails each Sunday afternoon in an attempt to keep people informed of what is happening in the next couple of weeks or months. Next Tuesday 13^th January is a 4BBB Stableford event sponsored by Neil Hilder. Thank you, Neil. Looking at the time sheet there are 2 spots available so get in early. Dennis Hughes asked me to remind you , in 4 Ball and partnered events , the computer pairs you with the person next to you on the timesheet. Eg. In your timeslot players 1 & 2 are paired and players 3 & 4 are paired,  if that is not the way you want it, you need to change the order of the players in the computer.

 At Tuesday's presentation I spoke about the coming year and that we should have a real endeavour to win the Bill Medley Shield, to be competitive we require a good number of players to select the team in each event. The Shield is contested between all the  Vets NSW Zone 12 Clubs. The following dates and venues are listed so you can write them in your diary. Most clubs like to pair club members together with other clubs. (What I mean is, most cases you can nominate and play in the same group as your travel companion or playing mate). They are all Single Stableford events, even if you don’t make the team of the day you are still in the competition. The 2015 Calendar looks like this:
